Thank you Eileen!

These darling sweaters were made and donated by Eileen from California.  They are very soft and warm, and arrived just in time for the cold weather.

I'm sure that the moms who receive these for their babies will be thrilled!  Thank you so much, Eileen, for supporting Marine Corps Kids and our military families!

Thank you, Laura!

These great scarves and ear warmers were made by Laura from Minnesota.

I don't know about where you are, but here it went from the mid-70's two days ago to the mid-30's today.  Definitely time to start thinking about cold weather gear!

I'm sure that the Marine Corps Moms and kids who receive these will appreciate them!

Many gifts from friends in Wisconsin

Karen from Wisconsin has been sewing for Marine Corps Kids for several years, and has been very active in helping to spread the word about what we do and recruit new crafters to join us.  Now, many of her friends join her in making gifts for the babies!

This week a large box arrived from Wisconsin with gifts from Karen, her sister Janet, and friends Jill and Jackie.

Karen made 8 micro-fleece receiving blankets and 50 burp cloths!

Jill Crocheted this darling baby blanket:

This knitted baby sweater was made by Jackie:
and Janet crocheted these three sweaters, blanket, hat and booties:

Thank you ladies so much for these lovely gifts!  I love that you all work together to create these things for the babies!  I am packing up more gifts this weekend, and know that the families who receive these beautifully crafted items will be thrilled!!!

I appreciate your continued support!

Thank you, Judy!

Judy from Pennsylvania was one of our very first donors to Marine Corps Kids.  Over the years she has sent in countless gifts including some of the cutest little stuffed toys, hats, sweaters, dresses, washcloths and bibs.

Lately she has been having problems with her hands, and no longer able to crochet.  She wrote:

..It has taken me a few months to finally accept this fact and do now want to let the yarn I have go to waste.  It was all given to me and I am now paying it forward.  This is not all of it - I have more to sort thr but wanted to send some now.  I am not sure if it can all be used for baby stuff, but it can be used for siblings and moms.   I truly regret that I can no longer create for Marine  Corps Kids - I so loved all the years I have been donating.  MCK was and will always be near and dear to my heart.  I continue to check the blogspot and enjoy seeing all the beautiful things you are getting."

Thank you so very much, Judy for all you have contributed.  There are literally hundreds of babies out there who have received your gifts and who are still playing with the darling toys you have sent!

It is very kind of you to send the yarn to us.  There are several groups including a few Senior Centers, a Girl Scout Troop, and the Hooks and Bars group who I'm sure would be delighted to use this yarn to create more wonderful things for MCK.  Your generosity is helping to create more gifts for the kids!!!

You will always be a member of the MCK Family of crafters, and we will always be a appreciative of all the gifts that you have created!

If there are any individuals or groups out there who would like to receive some of this donated yarn to create gifts for Marine Corps Kids, please let me know.

More from Pauline

Pauline from Oregon is always working on new sets for Maine Corps Kids.  I've lost track of how many babies are already wrapped up in her soft and beautiful blanket/hat sets.

Two more sets arrived from Pauline this week.  Thank you so much for your continued support!

Thanks to the Buttonwood Campground

Four large boxes arrived from  the Buttonwood Campground in Mifflintown, Pennsylvania.  Inside I found an amazing assortment of gifts for the kids!!

The packages included:
45 baby blankets
45 hats
21 washcloths
8 hat/sock sets
2 booties
2 sweaters  and
2 sweater sets

Everything is just gorgeous!  All of these wonderful items were made by friends and patrons of the Campground.   I am just overwhelmed by the amount of talent and generosity in those boxes.

It will take me some time to photograph everything that was sent, but I didn't want to delay in saying "thank you" to all the crafters who made these gifts!!!  I will get photos up on the site asap.

Thank you so much!
