A great big box from Washington State

A large box of incredible gifts arrived today from Washington State!  It included items made by Delores from Gresham and items made by members of the Holy Redeemer Church in North Bend.

All of the gifts are delightful!  My sincere apologies if I attribute the wrong items to the wrong crafters, but I believe that they were made as follows:

The photos below show items made by Delores.  They include 3 crocheted blankets, 6 pairs of booties, 2 pairs of mitts, 25 hats, 5 quilts, 7 fleece blankets and 1 receiving blanket.

These are all so gorgeous!

The ladies from the Holy Redeemer Church sent in 4 darling fleece blankets and 1 sweet quilted cover.

I know that the families are going to be thrilled to receive these

Thank you to everyone who participated.

If I mistakenly mislabeled these items, I sincerely apologize.  Please leave a comment and I will correct the post.

With Sincere Thanks

Two very large boxes arrived via Fed Ex yesterday from the Magnolia Senior Center in Long Beach, NY.  The wonderful women in this group have donated to Marine Corps Kids on several occasions, and their generosity and talented are always inspiring.

This week's packages were accompanied by the following letter.

Please click on the letter to read it.  It is amazing.

The Magnolia Senior Center was damaged during Hurricane Sandy, and many of the members of this group were evacuated from their homes and/or sustained damage.  All the work that they have done all year for Marine Corps Kids, however, was spared from the floods and shipped to us this week.

Below are just a few photos showing a sampling of the gorgeous gifts made by the ladies.

To see more photos of their work, please view the dedicated photo album on our Facebook page.

Please join me in thanking these women for their amazing donations, and in wishing them and their families well in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

Thank you, Judy!

Judy from Pennsylvania was one of our very first donors to Marine Corps Kids.  Over the years she has sent in countless gifts including some of the cutest little stuffed toys, hats, sweaters, dresses, washcloths and bibs.

Lately she has been having problems with her hands, and no longer able to crochet.  She wrote:

..It has taken me a few months to finally accept this fact and do now want to let the yarn I have go to waste.  It was all given to me and I am now paying it forward.  This is not all of it - I have more to sort thr but wanted to send some now.  I am not sure if it can all be used for baby stuff, but it can be used for siblings and moms.   I truly regret that I can no longer create for Marine  Corps Kids - I so loved all the years I have been donating.  MCK was and will always be near and dear to my heart.  I continue to check the blogspot and enjoy seeing all the beautiful things you are getting."

Thank you so very much, Judy for all you have contributed.  There are literally hundreds of babies out there who have received your gifts and who are still playing with the darling toys you have sent!

It is very kind of you to send the yarn to us.  There are several groups including a few Senior Centers, a Girl Scout Troop, and the Hooks and Bars group who I'm sure would be delighted to use this yarn to create more wonderful things for MCK.  Your generosity is helping to create more gifts for the kids!!!

You will always be a member of the MCK Family of crafters, and we will always be a appreciative of all the gifts that you have created!

If there are any individuals or groups out there who would like to receive some of this donated yarn to create gifts for Marine Corps Kids, please let me know.
